Hogan's Heroes is the legendary comedy that ran from 1965 - 1971 portraying a fictional German POW camp during WW2. Colonel Robert E. Hogan (Bob Crane) is successfully running covert operations while in captivity under the inept German Colonel Clink and his staff. Hogan basically takes advantage of Clink lack of control over the camp in a comedy that is often considered ahead of it's time for how it mixed surreal comedy with action/adventure and heavy subject matter. The camp, run by the Luftwaffe and set in the woods near Hammelburg, is an unlikely base of operations for espionage and sabotage for allied soldiers under Hogan's command. Prisoners are able to come and go via a chain of underground tunnels and have consistent radio contact with Allied command. Hogan's Heroes Seasons 1-6 DVD box set covers the entire run of the show.
